Blog Post #5

My early experiences with Twitter were mainly focused on how to use the app and what everything does. I have a personal Twitter, but I rarely use it. It's just not something I need in my daily life. For this class, I have only really used it to follow people and get credit for it. I'm not sure how helpful Twitter would be to me in my future career. I'm not sure if there is something I'm missing when it comes to the use of the app and how it might be beneficial to me as a teacher, but I just don't see where it would be a "holy grail" for me and my classroom.

The digital divide is an obstacle in most schools. This causes students to lack knowledge about technology and can put them behind in their future. Most jobs and higher-level schooling requires computer access, and if you don't know the basics of computers, it could be tough to teach yourself how to use a computer while also balancing the in-class work. In my schools, we were always fortunate enough to have access to computers and different kinds of technology. However, I know this issue is worldwide and can put many students behind in their classwork. If this were to be the case in my classroom, I would slowly educate them on technology and prioritize learning about computers or other electronics, so they leave my classroom confident to complete work. I would also encourage questions while learning how to use the different electronics so that in the future, they know that it's okay to ask questions when they're confused.

When working on Canvas for Assignment #2, I found it wasn't necessarily too complex or challenging. However, in my old schools, we strictly used Google Classroom, so I've already had to adjust from Google Classroom to Canvas. While doing that, I had to learn everything about Canvas, as I had never used it before. With that being said, using Canvas for this assignment was easy. I had no problems using it or figuring out what I was doing. Not too hard and not overly easy. I'm not sure if I would use Canvas with my students because like I said my other schools required Google Classroom, I would use what I had to.
